San Francisco!!!

Hello!  My name is Phyllis Wesener.  My husband, Dave, and I are chaperones with Bus II on this amazing West Coast Trip.  It was another long day as we left the hotel at 7:15 am for San Fransisco.  While half of the group went to Alcatraz the other half had time to explore Pier 39 and surrounding sites near Fisherman's Wharf.  We were lucky to have a clear and beautiful day for our time in San Fransisco.  The ride to Alcatraz allowed us to see San Fransisco from a distance.  A special treat at Alcatraz today was a former inmate who was available for us to meet and to autograph a book about his life.  Both groups met at the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch.  Some of our group explored Coit Tower, Lombard Street, the Haight Ashbury neighborhood, and many of the shops located along the wharf.  We spent some time at The Golden Gate Bridge area where pictures were taken and some elected to walk a portion of the bridge.  We ate in China Town and ended the night picking up picnic supplies for our lunch at Yosemite tomorrow.  It was past 10:00 pm by the time we returned to the hotel so it was lights out as we prepare to travel to Yosemite National Park early in the morning!

Hi everyone!

My name is Luisa and I’m from Brazil. We are in the West Coast for already 6 days and we are having a blast! 

Sunday we went to Santa Monica. There we had time to enjoy the beach either swimming, laying down or playing soccer. We also went to the famous pier, where there is a amusement park. Some of us rode the Ferris wheel, where we were able to see the best view of the beach.

After lunch we went to Malibu, where we had more time to enjoy the beach. Our next stop was Santa Barbra, where we had just a little time, but enough to enjoy the view, pictures, and the last soccer game of the day.

Today we went to Monterey’s fishermarket, that is a really nice place by the sea, where you can find some souvenir stores, restaurants and even see sea lions! We had some free time to explore the place and buy a sweatshirt because we had a cold day, and most of us weren’t expecting for this.

We had lunch in a really nice restaurant called Domenicos, where we could see the sea and the sea lions.

Once more we went to the beach, this time was Carmel Beach. Even with the cold, we tried to enjoy our afternoon as most as we could, some swam, some tried to get tan when the sun came out, and some played soccer.

After this amazing day we headed to San Franscisco. We ate in the mall and had some free time to shop. We finally came to the hotel to relax.

Disneyland and California Adventure Park!

Hey Everyone!!

My name is Débora Labarrère, and I am the West Coast Bus 2 trip Coordinator!!

Welcome to our Trip Blog!! Hope you like the posts and the pictures! I just can tell that everybody is having a BLAST over here!!

Yesterday we went to Disneyland and California Adventure park, where we spent all day having A LOT OF FUN!! We left our hotel 8:30 in the morning, and just came back 00:30!! It was a looong and amazing day!

We still have 2 weeks ahead, so we are always going to post here news and pictures, so you can also participate of our trip!

We are now in Santa Monica, and the exchange students are enjoyng this sunny day by the beach!

Hey everybody! My name is Taylor and I am the assistant this year on bus 2! I am really excited to be here because we have an amazing trip ahead of us. Today we went to Universal Studios! First we took a behind the scenes tour together. They showed us the sets of many famous shows and movies, like desperate housewives, jaws, and phantom of the opera. Many of the buildings shown on tv are not actually real buildings, just the front part and nothing behind. Next we went on many different rides including The Simpsons, Return of the Mummy, Jurassic Park, and Transformers. Some of these rides were just simulators for which we used 3D glasses, while others were actual roller coasters. We spent all day at Universal Studios- the weather was absolutely beautiful: sunny and warm!! After a long day of rides, we had an hour and a half at Citywalk, an outdoor shopping center right next to Universal Studios. Lastly we had dinner at Bubba Gump's! Some people had shrimp (that's what they are famous for) while others chose a cheeseburger, salad, pasta, or fish. At the restaurant, the waiters asked some questions about the movie, Forrest Gump. After a very long and fun day, we headed back to the hotel to get some rest for tomorrow's adventures!
